About brand

arachute Home started in 2014, when founder Ariel Kaye grew tired of overpriced, forgettable bedding options after years of shopping around Los Angeles. Before that, she spent a decade in advertising and brand development, but a night spent at a small boutique hotel on the Amalfi Coast changed the direction of her career entirely. The sheets there felt unlike anything she had slept on before, and the morning after left a lasting impression — one that eventually turned into a business plan.

Back in California, she set out to find something close to that feeling and came up empty. Big-box retailers offered inflated thread counts and little substance behind them, while boutique options came with prices that felt disconnected from actual quality. So she built the brand herself, launching from Venice Beach with a direct-to-consumer model that skipped the retail markup and let the product speak for itself. The name itself was chosen for a reason — it evokes the sensation of falling into a bed that actually feels like it should.

From the beginning, sourcing mattered as much as design. Kaye spent over a year vetting manufacturing partners before settling on a family-run factory in Portugal, along with additional partners in Italy, both known for generations of textile expertise passed down through the same families. That relationship still shapes how the sheets, comforters, and bedding sets are made today — long-staple cotton, honest labeling, and a refusal to lean on gimmicks like exaggerated thread-count numbers to justify a price tag.

What started as a single bedding line has since grown into a full home lifestyle brand, expanding into bath, loungewear, décor, and furniture, with retail locations opening across the country. Despite the growth, the focus has stayed close to where it started: sleep, comfort, and materials that hold up to both scrutiny and daily use. It’s less about selling a product and more about fixing a category that had, for a long time, gotten away with selling less than it promised.

What peoples say about us

Real people, real nights, real opinions — see what customers are saying after sleeping on it themselves.

Patricia Hale, 58

Customer

“After sixty years of sleeping on whatever was on sale, I finally understand what people mean by a good night’s sleep. The fabric stays cool, the seams haven’t budged, and bedtime is something I look forward to now.”

Claire Sanderson, 31

Customer

“Redid my whole bedroom on a budget and almost skipped upgrading the sheets to save money. Glad I didn’t. Everything else in the room gets compliments, but this is the part guests actually ask about.”

Rachel Kim, 39

Customer

“Between work and two toddlers, I don’t sleep much, so whatever sleep I get needs to count. Switching sheets sounds minor until you notice you’re not waking up sweaty or tangled anymore. Small change, real difference.”

FAQ

What are Parachute sheets actually made from?

Percale and sateen sets use 100% long-staple Egyptian cotton, while the linen sets are 100% European flax. Every fabric line carries OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certification, meaning it’s tested for harmful chemicals. The cotton and linen are woven and finished at a family-run factory in Portugal.

Who should buy Parachute bedding vs skip it?

Percale suits hot sleepers who want a crisp, breathable feel, while sateen fits people who prefer a smoother sheet with a slight sheen. Linen works for both warm and cool sleepers thanks to its breathable fibers. If you want a heavy flannel sheet for cold climates, this line isn’t built for that — it doesn’t currently carry flannel.

How long before the sheets feel “broken in”?

The sheets are garment-washed before shipping, so they arrive soft instead of stiff out of the bag. Percale softens further after 2–3 washes as the cotton fibers relax. Linen follows the same curve — expect it to keep getting softer through the first month of regular use.

Are the sheets treated with any chemicals I should worry about?

No — every cotton and linen set carries OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certification, meaning an independent lab tested the finished fabric for over 100 harmful substances and found none above safe limits. That covers the dyes and finishing treatments, not just the raw fiber. If you have sensitive skin, this is the main thing to check before buying any sheet brand.

Will these sheets actually hold up over years of washing?

Long-staple cotton fibers are longer and stronger than the short-staple cotton used in most budget sheets, which is why percale and sateen resist pilling better over repeated washes. Owners who’ve had the sheets for 2+ years commonly report the color holding, though percale wrinkles faster than sateen. Cold water and skipping fabric softener extend the life of any cotton weave.

How fast will my order actually arrive?

Most U.S. orders ship within 1–2 business days and arrive within 3–7 business days depending on location. A tracking number goes out by email as soon as the order leaves the warehouse. International shipping is available but takes longer and may involve customs fees.

What if I don’t like how the sheets feel once they arrive?

You get 60 days from delivery to return or exchange most items, including sheet sets, as long as they’re in like-new condition. Final sale items, mattresses, and a handful of specific categories are excluded, so check the product page first. Refunds go back to the original payment method once the return processes.

What happens if the sheets pill, rip, or wear out early?

Reach out with the order number and photos of the issue — manufacturing defects are typically handled outside the standard 60-day return window. Most reported issues surface within the first few washes, and defective items get replaced rather than credited. Normal wear after months of use isn’t covered, but a defect straight out of the package usually is.
